A broken thermometer changed everything.

It started on an ordinary evening at the grill. Randy Boyd reached for his meat thermometer and found it broken. A quick search on Amazon turned into the spark that launched a business.

Not long after, he was grilling with a standard set of tongs and pulled his hand back from the heat. The handles were too short. Too close to the fire. He called his manufacturer with one request: make them 24 inches long. That one change led to an entire product line.
